Emily Irene VanCamp was originally interested in becoming a dancer. However, after going to her sister Katie's set in the Ladies Room, she became more inclined to act. The acting profession began after she started taking classes. She also got appearances on television shows in her homeland of Canada. She was on as a guest on several shows in Are You Fearful of Dark? Radio Active and Dice. VanCamp's career took off after he was cast as Sam Dolan, a regular on WB Horror Mystery Glory Days. The show was cancelled after just nine episodes, despite glowing reviews and low ratings. Despite her May 12, 1986 birthday her actress was offered an appearance on Everwood in its cast as Amy Abbott. She was a finalist to win the award for four Teen Choice Awards and a Young Artist Award.
